Snug Harbor / Under Construction

$0.00

Hebron, NH

Perched within the dramatic lakefront environment, this new family residence replaces the existing house and boathouse with a new architecture that reflects the drama of the surrounding landscape. The challenge of navigating the 70 feet of elevation change across the site becomes the defining character of the landscape design.

A series of terraces, designed to both discreetly hide and boldly enhance elements of the design, intentionally step visitors through the site beginning at the parking areas, and working their way down toward the waterfront. A series of stairs, walkways, and boardwalks connect the main house, boathouse, dock, and seating terraces nestled into the terrain and softened by generous plantings. The layout of these site elements is oriented with careful intention to capture views across the lake and into the landscape beyond. The master plan employs a vocabulary of large landscape boulders and refined fieldstone walls to reflect the site's natural features and rugged backdrop.

The long-term site master plan includes a guest house and trail network, linking dramatic landscape features and vistas through the woodland, guided by thoughtful new clearings.
