Head of the Harbor Residence

$0.00

Nantucket, MA

With incredible views overlooking Nantucket Sound, careful consideration and study was needed to ensure the preservation of sightlines out to the water. During the design process, noting important existing vegetation and topography, sighting proposed buildings, and laying out a beautiful entry drive experience into this island home were of great importance. Set within a wetland resource area, this 6-acre site included the restoration of a depleted salt marsh, as well as the extensive removal of invasive tree and shrub species. The utilization of a limited native plant palette, including Bayberry, Scrub Oak, Arrowwood Viburnum, and Little Bluestem were carried out by way of meticulously thought-out massing throughout the site. These efforts resulted in seamless connection and balance between introduced elements, and their natural surroundings.
