Blue Mountain Beach

Santa Rosa Beach, FL

Project Description

This project afforded us the opportunity to re-work how visitors approach and utilize the outdoor spaces adjacent to a renovated home in the Florida panhandle. A new approach and entrance was conceived in tandem with the design of a new garage and pool cabana.
The new entry court, framed by introduced Sand Live Oaks and thickly planted in waves of ornamental grasses, alludes to the Gulf of Mexico that beckons just beyond the interior courtyard. An elegant new entry garden with a small patch of lawn connects the motor court and the front of the house in a deliberate and direct way that complements the architecture. In the pool courtyard, a new pool and terrace with crucial shaded areas was designed as a framing element to view over the sunny pool to the gulf.
