2017 Bulfinch Award

May 9, 2017

LJLA is honored to have recently received a Bulfinch Award from The New England Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art for the firm’s Ivy Court project.  On April 29, Doug Jones, Principal and John Haven, Senior Associate, accepted the award at a gala hosted at the Harvard Club.  The Bulfinch Awards “…recognize the best work of individuals and firms to preserve and advance the classical tradition in New England.”  For inspiration, LJLA looked to the formality of the architecture as they designed a garden that hosts contemporary living for a young, active family, while maintaining respect for the 1920’s Colonial Revival architectural style.  The jurors commented on the sophisticated use of the language of landscape to confidently express sensibility and depth.
