Sam, a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design with his MLA, joined LJLA in 2021 after 8 years of experience in the public sector. His wide range of project experience includes small rail trail connectors, parks and playgrounds, and regional interchanges.
Throughout the course of his career, he has developed an iterative and collaborative process to design and works to find novel, site specific solutions to site constraints. He draws inspiration from the simultaneous complexity and simplicity of nature’s integrated and repeating systems. Sam endeavors to connect people to the outside world through landscape design. He sees the garden as a gateway to the wider landscape and looks to spark passion and foster a sense of peace with his design work.
Most of Sam’s free time is spent outside – gardening, in front of the grill, or riding his bike. He also spends ample time doting on his cat and dog, giving treats to his horses, and devouring stand-up comedy and podcasts.
