April Maly
Associate, ASLA

April joined LJLA in 2020 with 9 years of diverse professional experience throughout New England and along the West coast including private residences, parks, housing, corporate and institutional campuses, and interactive temporary installations. She began her career in New England, managing projects rooted in ecological-based design and often within a sensitive environmental context. Her portfolio includes seven Connecticut ASLA award winning projects for built work and master planning that she completed while at Anne Penniman Associates and has been licensed since 2015.

She earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Rutgers University in 2011, where she was awarded the ASLA Honor for Excellence in the Study of Landscape Architecture and was actively involved in Cooperative Extension projects. She continues to stay connected by volunteering on the Department’s Alumni Committee, where she focuses on creating opportunities for students to connect to their professional alumni network. April has served on the Boston Society of Landscape Architects Award Committee as a co-chair since 2019.

April developed a passion for plants at a young age and can often be found sketching on a trail or public garden.
